1993

In order to further increase the company's capacity, a new property with a larger workshop and administration building is being built in Weding.

THE 90S

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the need for new and used devices in Germany is growing. The management decides to reduce the export business and concentrate on regional end customers. The company's rental fleet was also founded at this time. The forklifts are rented regionally and nationally to meet the growing needs of the industry.

1986

Leif Dahlgaard, Peer Dahlgaard's brother, joins the company. He is expanding the product range to include, among other things, industrial hall construction and rental.

1985

In order to be able to handle the growing transport tasks independently, you buy your own truck. This is now in almost permanent use.

THE 80S

The demand for used devices continues to increase. Peer Dahlgaard established connections with Italy and Spain, where around 200 devices were exported annually at that time. However, a large part of the export continues to go to Scandinavian countries such as Denmark and the Faroe Islands. Used and refurbished equipment in the fishing industry is used here.

1981

In addition to forklift service, Dahlgaard is now also entering into pallet rack construction. The first major customers for pallet racks and storage facilities are Dänisches Bettenlager and Lekkerland.

1980

In order to continue to expand, a new building is being built on the commercial property in Harrislee. In this context, the company's forklift service also comes to life. The forklift customer service with its own workshop quickly establishes itself. The first company car, a blue VW T2, is purchased.

1979

Peer Dahlgaard officially joins the company and takes responsibility for the repair department.

1973

Peer Dahlgaard started helping out in the family business at an early age. At the age of 16, he began repairing used forklifts and preparing them for sale. Due to the increased demand, interest in used equipment is now growing, so the company's new focus is trading in used forklifts.

1972

Since larger premises are needed, the company moves to Werkstrasse in Harrislee.

1962

Ernst Dahlgaard, the company's founder, dies at the age of 66. Harald Dahlgaard takes over the company as an independent dealer and sells Jungheinrich and STILL forklifts as well as various construction machinery and transport equipment.

1958

The first forklift is sold. The 2,5t STILL diesel forklift truck goes to the Hans Brink wood shop in Flensburg.

1956

The son of the founder Harald Dahlgaard joined his father's company at the age of 25. Towards the end of the 50s, there was an increased demand for forklifts in the region. The beverage industry and other sectors are converting the internal transport of transport systems to forklifts and industrial trucks.

The 50s

In the 50s, difficult times emerged for the young company due to the poor German economic situation and many foreign competitors. For this reason, Ernst Dahlgaard is expanding its offering and now also sells transport systems. Major customers at this time are gravel works and industrial companies in the region. Many Flensburg spirits producers of this time (including Hansen Rum, H.G. Dethleffsen and Andresen Rum) were customers of Ernst Dahlgaard.

1946

REGISTRATION OF ERNST DAHLGAARD KG

The company Ernst Dahlgaard KG was first registered in 1946. At this time, an office and two garages from the neighboring garage courtyard are being rented at Husumer Straße 17 in Flensburg.

1926

The beginning

In 1926, Ernst Dahlgaard (*1896) began his own business as a sales representative for companies such as Weserhütte and Ahlfelder Eisenwerke. He held the agency until the end of the 50s. Its main focus is the sale and brokerage of road construction machinery and spare parts for locomotives and rail vehicles. In the pre-war period, Ernst Dahlgaard used his Danish citizenship and his contacts in Denmark to sell machines and equipment in the neighboring country to the north. In the post-war period, the need for asphalt mixing plants and construction machinery grew.
